SmartHost uses a sophisticated firewall system to protect your web hosting account to keep it safe from hacking and attacks.

Sometimes a valid IP address can get blocked on the SmartHost Firewall. This can be the result of entering an incorrect email password too many times, or by trying to access your WordPress Hosting account administration system with incorrect logins.

If this happens, you can unblock your IP address from the SmartHost Customer Portal.  Alternatively, open a support ticket by emailing us at support (at) and we will be glad to assist.

When calling, please have your IP address to hand, as we will need this to unblock your account.  You can get your IP address at or if you cannot access any SmartHost servers, you can get your IP address here
